Why you need water sensors in your home

If a leak occurs when you are away from home, it can damage floors, walls and personal belongings. If the water goes unnoticed for a long time it can cause potentially catastrophic damage to your home. Water sensors from WH Security can help.

There are many places where water can leak in your home. Water supply lines on your washing machine or dishwasher, hot water heaters, sinks and toilets are the most common. Sump pumps can also fail and overflow, potentially causing significant damage to your home.

Water sensors come in two different styles. One has external contact points and when water makes contract with them, it shorts the device and triggers the central processing unit (CPU), which notifies the monitoring center. Dispatchers then alert you so you can take action quickly.

The other style offered by WH Security is a float-style water sensor, which goes in the sump tank. When water reaches the level of the device, a portion of it starts to float up. When it reaches a certain height, it triggers the CPU and notifies the monitoring center.
